We’ll be asking customers to tap in and tap out every time they use a bus, train or SeaBus – this is how the Compass system will calculate the correct fare and we want to ensure every customer is charged accurately – that’s why tapping is so important. Following the easy tapping process also ensures that customers are not in violation of the rules and terms and conditions and so will not be charged a fine. People who forget to Tap Out will be charged the maximum fare. We want to help our customers adapt to tapping in and out, so we will provide lots of information, reminders and time for customers to get used to the new system.
